You’ve been thinking about growing your own food for a while now.
Maybe you’ve tried before and it didn’t go well. Maybe you’ve never started because you just don’t know where to begin. Maybe you’ve Googled it, watched the YouTube videos, and ended up more confused than when you started.
You’ve got questions like:
What do I actually plant, and when?
Do I need a garden bed or can I use pots?
How do I know if my soil is any good?
What if I kill everything?
And underneath all of that, there’s this quiet worry: what if I’m just not a gardening person?
Here’s what I want you to know. You are. You just haven’t had the right guidance yet.
It’s your first big spring planting weekend. You’re outside - in your garden, on your balcony, or in your backyard - and you’re planting out tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini that you’ve been raising from seed for the past six weeks.
You know exactly where to put them. You know how deep to plant them, how far apart, and what to plant nearby to help them thrive. Your soil is prepped. Your containers are set up. You’ve already spotted and dealt with a few early pests.
You did all of that. Step by step, week by week, with support the whole way.
That’s what Grow It is for.
Not another thing to figure out alone.
Grow It is a live 6-week course where I guide you through every single step of starting your spring vegetable garden - from planning your space all the way through to having everything ready to plant when the warm weather arrives.
It’s not a pre-recorded course you buy and never open.
It’s live, it’s specific to the Southern Hemisphere spring season, and I’ll be right there with you every week.
Each week we have a live group video session together - you can ask questions, share your progress, and hear from other growers doing the same thing at the same time as you.
Between sessions, you’ve got a short pre-recorded lesson to watch, a worksheet to fill in, and a simple task to do in your own garden.
By the time your first spring planting weekend arrives, you won’t just know what to do. You’ll have already done it.

We start with a proper look at your space - sun, shade, size, and what’s realistic. You’ll map out your garden plan and choose the 3-5 crops you’re most excited to grow. No overwhelm, no over-complicating it.
This is where it gets exciting. You’ll sow your first seeds and learn how to raise healthy seedlings from scratch. We’ll also cover when it makes more sense to buy seedlings from the nursery instead - and how to pick the good ones.
Soil, containers, and garden beds. I’ll walk you through exactly what you need, what to buy, and how to set everything up so your plants have the best possible start.
Your seedlings are growing - now what? This week is about the care routine: watering, feeding, and catching problems early before they become disasters. I’ll share my own simple weekly garden habit so it never feels like a chore.
Time to start hardening off your seedlings and doing the final prep on your beds. We’ll cover companion planting, spacing, and how to make the most of whatever space you have.
By the end of this week, everything is done. Your garden is set up, your seedlings are hardened and healthy, and you are completely ready for your first big planting weekend. All that’s left is the fun part.

You want to grow food this spring and you’re tired of putting it off
You want someone to guide you, not just a list of tips to sort out alone
You’re in NZ or Australia heading into your spring season
This probably isn't for you if:
You’re an experienced gardener looking for advanced techniques
You want to work through things in your own time with no live interaction
You’re not ready to actually get in the garden this spring
I started gardening about 8 years ago on a tiny balcony with a few pots and absolutely no idea what I was doing.
Some things grew. A lot of things didn’t. I killed more plants than I’d like to admit.
But I kept going - and slowly I figured out what actually works. Now I grow a proper front yard vegetable patch in the Bay of Plenty, and I share the whole journey - wins, fails, and everything in between - with my community at @garden_tastic across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
I’m not a horticulturalist. I’m not a qualified teacher. I’m just someone who has learned a huge amount through trial and error and genuinely loves helping beginners skip the frustrating part and get straight to the joy of growing their own food.
My three-year-old son has pulled countless unripe tomatoes off my plants. My garden paths are full of weeds. It’s real life - and that’s kind of the whole point.
You don’t need a perfect garden. You just need to start.

Absolutely. I’ve gardened on a rental balcony with pots, and I teach the same way I learned - starting small and working with whatever you have. This course works for pots, grow bags, raised beds, and in-ground garden beds. If you have a few containers on a balcony, you can do this course.
Most first gardens fail because of a lack of guidance, not a lack of ability. You probably planted the wrong things at the wrong time, or the soil wasn’t right, or nobody told you about hardening off seedlings. That’s not a you problem - it’s an information problem. This course fixes exactly that.
About 2-3 hours per week - including the live session, the short pre-recorded lesson, and the garden task. The tasks are designed to be done in 15-30 minutes in the garden. If you can find a weekend morning and a weekday evening, you can do this.
Live sessions are held on Thursday evenings 7pm NZST/NZDT time, starting 27 August 2026. If you can’t make one live, the recording will be available in the community within 24 hours.
Yes! The course is designed for the Southern Hemisphere spring season, so the timing and content applies to both NZ and Australian gardeners heading into spring and summer.
If you complete Week 1 and decide the course isn’t what you expected, get in touch and I’ll sort it out. I want you to feel good about being here.
Everything is hosted on Ivorey - the community, lessons, and worksheets. It works on desktop and mobile. You’ll get your login details as soon as you enrol. No facebook groups here!
